We as consumers have the purchasing power to make a change in the world. 🌎

We get to choose whether we want to spend $60 at H&M or support a local small shop.

We get to choose whether we want to buy a whole bunch of cheap clothes on sale or buy lesser, high quality items.

When you support Fast Fashion, you are telling these companies there is a need and want for more clothes. Therefore, they will continue to exploit their garment workers in foreign countries to make clothes faster for consumers like you.

What does exploiting mean?

It means these large companies benefit from children & women garment workers who work less than minimum wage and in unsafe working conditions with no breaks to fulfil their large orders.

“Workers in the garment industry are required to put in 14-16 hrs per day, 7 days a week, and endure verbal and sometimes physical abuse. A lot of the time the workers are exposed to harmful substances while working without enough ventilation.”

Working over time and underpaid aka modern-day slavery & forced labour.

We have the power each day to make a change that can also affect how these people are being treated.

Once we know better, we can do better together.

Buy better.
